Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Contribute to organizational strategy by understanding key strategic drivers, providing annual input, and aligning departmental plans to business objectives.
- Implement departmental strategy, operations plans, and projects while tracking performance against KPIs and submitting progress reports.
Compliance and Safety Oversight
- Ensure compliance with local and corporate regulations, including SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) standards. Manage training, monitoring, and resolution of non-compliance issues.
- Oversee regulatory updates, align policies, and maintain ethical practices across operations.
Production and Quality Management
- Develop and execute plant production plans, ensuring delivery targets, quality standards, and minimal waste. Address quality issues through testing and corrective actions.
- Optimize production efficiency, manage startup/shutdown processes, and resolve operational anomalies.
Process and Systems Improvement
- Review and refine departmental processes, systems, and software for efficiency. Implement improvements and monitor compliance.
Stakeholder and Team Leadership
- Lead recruitment, resourcing, and performance management for staff. Set expectations, provide feedback, and mentor team members.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders, service providers, and industry partners to address challenges and foster relationships.
Qualifications
- Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics, Science, and English.
- Explosives Management SLP (Preferred).
- 5–7 years of Plant Operator or similar experience.
- 2–4 years of supervisory experience.
